Weekly sketch #47. A piece of an upload graphic/icon, resurfacing here for an encore.
Text, video and photos make the world go ’round. Weekly sketch número 34.
Weekly sketch #20. Roadside iPhone snap + tile texture from the same road trip. Recycled/modified vectors.
Weekly sketch #17. Screensnaps from the tele and my laptop, and recycled vectors. Nothing at all Costa Rica about it.
Quick sketch (weekly sketch number 10) coming off of a weekend of festivities around 15 Septiembre, Costa Rica’s independence day. Flags everywhere, but never flat – always furled and liquid. Not crazy about this one, but the vectors were pretty cool to play with. Deliberately flat color on those.
Summertime is postertime for the Phase Collective. This took forever (‘pixel’ details shown below – all done manually), but was 100% worth the labor. Meditational, almost. Large format, single color production on the way soon. All side projects are born from previous experiments. I can trace every detail of this project back over the last few years – fascinations with the California flag, pixel-level detail, custom ‘pixel’ blocks, and a pull back to print production.
Quick weekly sketch, a bit behind schedule, after a day trip out to Playa Blanca on the West coast of Costa Rica. Most of these sketches consist of nothing more than an iPhone snap, some color additions, and some vector overlays. Photo, color, vectors – my basic bag of tricks for digital side project playtime. Happy Monday.
